Can We Pretend?Can we pretend just for a little while  That it won’t hurt now if we smile?  To give into the masquerade,  And let our worries begin to fade.  To see our hearts sewn together  So neatly done, as if never been severed.  To sweep all this hurt out of the back door,  To act as if there’s nothing more.  Give the sky a sideways glance,  As if there is no rain drop dance.  
The blood and ink were never spilt.  No painted pictures of colored guilt.  Destruction will be the alien.  The destruction, the pain, along with the sin.  No explosions of the words or mind,  W Can We Pretend?
